Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I just want to know when to put them into shut down. Today ( day 17 ) or tomorrow ( day 18 ).
If I go by my time ( zero being day one ), then I should do it tomorrow. But if I go by the app and your time ( 1 being day 1 ) then today is the day?!?!

Either day would be fine Luke. 1 day early or late wont make any difference to them hatching. Don't forget lots of pics of them when they hatch :)

NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE....

My Pekin boy Max, has developed an eye infection (?).... One eye is worse than the other, but both are runny with a little bit of pus. I noticed it yesterday afternoon and have cleaned them several times with salt water but they don't seem to be looking any better 24hrs on. Behind his neck (top of wings area) is all tacky on his feathers from where he keeps wiping his eyes, and it smells bad! He doesn't seem to have a runny nose but he does seem to be off his food (not eating his scrambled egg!). I have showered him to wash his yucky feathers as I didn't want him to keep wiping the infection back into his eyes, and since it is very chilly outside, have left him in to the bathroom with the heater on to dry and stay warm. None of the other chickens seem to be sick, only Max.

1. What do you think it might be?
2. What else can I do for him?

Thank you in advance for your help

I battled an ugly eye infection in my Dorking for about 5-6 weeks.
She was doing exactly what you describe Max as doing, wiping her eye on her feathers making her smell really horrid. I used to bath or wipe down her feathers every few days to help with the smell.

She only had the infection in one eye, but she had a couple of Alamycin injections, chlorsig applied to her eye twice to three times a day and I fed her a scrambled egg, livamol, garlic, sardines and avc mixture everyday to help boost her up.
I also wiped out the pus and flushed the eye with saline solution daily.
It took ages for her to recover and I really thought she was going to lose her eye, but thankfully she didn't. She's all healed up now and back in with the others, though the eye healed up to be cloudy so I don't know if she's got too much sight it in.

This is what her eye looked like:

Here she is now all happy

Quick question....I've come back to work and two hens about 5 months old have been donated. I've had them separated for a week or so but I'd like to put them together now. How long does establishing the pecking order go for, and how fierce is it? So far the older girls have attacked the new at every opportunity and its stressing out my boss. I can't keep running in and restoring order....I'm supposed to be teaching!

The outer coop\ run is about 8x4m and the inner about 2x3. When they were free ranging in the playground yesterday one made a beeline for a new girl and pecked her immediately.

Seems big enough - there will always be squabbles and tiffs between new birds and existing. To make the transition easier, is there a way you can keep the new birds in a separate part of the coop, but where the original girls can still see and interact with them without hurting them?

@K Spot . Looks pretty similar. What's AVC mixture tho pls?
ACV is apple cider vinegar, try to find the unpasturised kind.

So the mix I was feeding her everyday was 2 eggs, a teaspoon of livamol, a 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of garlic, 1 sardine and a 1/2 capful of ACV. I mixed it all together and nuked it in the microwave until the eggs were cooked.
