Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks Vehve.

Yes, Cwrite. That's what I did. I didn't want to mess with it too much and stress an already weaker chick even more than it was so I left it under Bubbles for tonight. I'll be getting up earlier in the morning to check on it and hopefully if it's made it through the night, I'll apply some wound ointment

Little hatchies! Unfortunately I lost 2 bantam Rocks mid hatch. They must have just tried too hard to get out of the shells, became exhausted and died :hit Not very nice seeing completely formed chicks ready to enter the world and not make it. Times like these I wish I worked from home so I could have helped them. I also found another bantam Rock that had rolled away from the nest and it's little head was stuck inside the egg. Poor thing was cold to the touch and when I got it out, I found a nasty cut on it's face right near it's eye (thank goodness it's eye isn't compromised though). It was near on dark so I just popped it back under Bubbles and will clean it up a bit in the morning. :fl the little thing makes it through the night. I really hope so. If anyone has any advice they could give me regarding treatment for this little one, I'd be very grateful. So all up I have 3 Favs - all looking Cuckoo. 2 Aras - one completely black, the other a darker colour I'm not sure what it is 2 bantam Pencilled Rocks.
Sorry you lost a couple K :hugs :weee For your chicks that made it.:celebrate

If the wound is noticeable to the others they may peck at it so I would check it early in the morning and keep an eye on it. Post some pics tomorrow .

As you can see, the cut is quite nasty.I cleaned out the wound and applied some wound solution. I don't have any cetrigen but I'll pick some up today.
I contemplated putting her and her Rock brother in with another broody I have so there's less competition. Thoughts on that?

Here's a pic of a couple of the Favs from this morning.
