As you can see, the cut is quite nasty.I cleaned out the wound and applied some wound solution. I don't have any cetrigen but I'll pick some up today.
I contemplated putting her and her Rock brother in with another broody I have so there's less competition. Thoughts on that?

Here's a pic of a couple of the Favs from this morning.

I would leave it with the mum,.Some broodys will take other chickens some not so you may have the little guy get attacked again. Up to you though. Glad your little one made it through the night. Hope for a speedy recovery for it.

Thanks Satay. I'll leave her with Bubbles. I think once the cut is dried out she'll be ok. Dear little thing was buried right back under Bubbles' pantaloons so obviously had a prime sleeping spot during the night.

As long as the wound is covered she should be fine. Amazing how resilient they are!

Fancy fingers crossed that the ‘next project’ becomes a reality and congratulations on the championship wins. Beautiful pictures, as always!

K spot congratulations on the bubs; they are sooo cute! Sorry to hear you lost the two bantam Rocks.

The little one with the wound is adorable; poor little munchkin!

I am probably the least emergency/wound experienced out of all of you, but I do have a friend whose chick had a head injury when only one day old, she used liquid bandage to keep it covered; there is also an Elastoplast First Aid spray. As I said, I have not used it and have not researched it at all, but it worked wonderfully on this little chick and she is doing really well now. Apparently it still breathes, is waterproof and bacteria resistant.

I was thinking about getting some for my chicken first aid kit and wonder if anyone else has tried it?

@vehve - what's the Finnish word for luck or lucky? I did a Google translate and got a possible translation, but I would like to know from someone who actually lives there
