Eww, you can keep that. Whilst I know that a huntsman can't kill me directly, indirectly the heart attack I have when I wake up with him on my face will.

I've never been able to bring myself to be afraid of anything that much smaller than me. Except earwigs. Earwigs are evil and clearly trying to murder me. >.>

I went to take a shower this morning before work - little jumping spider has decided to take up residency on my shower nozzle. I had to scoop the little b*gger off the nozzle and threw him out the screen door so I could shower alone.
I don't have a problem with spiders, as long as the big ones aren't near me or touching me.

Jumping spiders are the adorable little spitfires of the spider world. Tiny little things but always have that, "Come at me bro, I'll take you on!" attitude and I love it. <3

The PVC coated sound a better idea. Would imagine it's very expensive though.

The waratah galvanized will still outlast the coax coated stuff which is basically emu wire and very expensive. You could always dig a wider trench and put galvanized roofing iron under the the ground and cover it over with 200ml of dirt. Don't know how long it would last , but it would be easier to replace and cheaper in the long run. That lazier light stuff is quite flexible and we got it very cheap on gumtree. Just thinking aloud. Luckily we don't have foxes here.

I woke up this morning to a huge thunder storm, it was rattling the bedroom window, I opened my eyes and there was a very big huntsman on the far wall. I have to spray and vacate the room cause they really do give me the heebejeebies.

That and my fat *** puffing my way along on my bike near sunset and inhaling all the bugs. -_-

My son was taking joy in feeding "his" chickens this morning. He's getting braver with letting them pick the corn out of his hands.



I also caught my golden spangled hamburg roo Washburne in the nesting boxes again. He likes to pretty it up a bit for zee ladeez. I leapt out at him and shouted, "J'accuse!!" He stared at me like I was a crazy person. >.>



I wouldn't mind him doing this if he didn't have the whole "throw the baby out with the bathwater" issue of flinging eggs out with excess bedding. But he's young so...learning? XD

Lol, what I hate is paddling down the river in my not so stable kayak with an enormous huntsmen on board. One of us is gunna get wet.

My outermost defensive perimeter is vertical sheets of corrugated iron buried about 20 cms, then a hot wire at fox nose height.
In places I have pegged horizontal chicken wire underneath this, but there has never been any attempts at digging.

The only times in 25 years that foxes have got into any of my runs was when I left one of the little raised trap doors the chooks use to free range the paddocks open,
and when I left a ladder leaning against a shed wall.
