Some photos of our "baby" and with it's mum :). She is now the biggest bird in the flock.

What do you think of the comb? Nearly laying ready? We expected her to start at the beginning of March at the very earliest but nothing yet. Not sure if I will know if they are her eggs though or if they will just look the same as everyone else's.

Great photos appps :)

LOL we get Kent Jap Qld Blue and butternut but for some reason uk call squash

We know chilli as the hot smaller ones and capsicum as big ones too

Sam here. And don't get one teenage son started on chilli's he loves them has so many types that we grow and tell you the history of each type and the hotness on the scoval scale..

Chillis here are those little hot beggars. Capsicum are as big as an apple and the red ones are quite sweet. Don't worry here in Tassie things are different even to the rest of Aus.
On the mainland my favorite pumpkin is called a Jap, here it is Kent, because it's not PC to say Jap. Little do they know that it just stands for Just Another Pumpkin.

Aint that the truth . It rains all the time and never gets over qld winter temps :plbb

Really nice sharp pictures. Great composition so we get a good picture story of your chook, well done...like the blue.

Hey there vehve thank you again for your suggestion but we also have the issue that we are renting the property.

While we have spent a lot of money on it to make it nice, most of what we have done we can take with us if we have to move. If we owned the property, the moat around the house would have been gone years ago.

All the rain had got to me last night but we just have to hang in there and hope we get a chance to dry out soon.

Today is a new day and I am going to go with ‘Let Your Smile be Your Umbrella’!

With a 95% chance of showers, heavy at times (15 to 30 mm) and the chance of a Thunderstorm; it is going to have to be a very big SMILE!

Fancy thank you for your suggestion also. I have some bedding straw but it is $9 a bag (pest resistant) so being Good Friday, can’t get my hands on some today. Will definitely check it out tomorrow though.

Sam that is a very clever Easter egg and looks very yummy! I love white chocolate!

appps your ‘baby’ is adorable!

So, the plan to for today is to work on the run extension between the rain. We can get the frame-work done under cover at least.

Also, because I do not have to work today, I am going to try and find Cilla and the Nuggets some high ground and set them up a play pen to hopefully give her a break from the nest box/balcony when not raining.

Another alternative is to lay an old carpet square down and scatter a bale of hay on top. I've been trailing pine bark mulch in one pen with faily good results.
Poor little birdies, perhaps a 'rooftop garden 'would make them happy. :)
