Wow, I had a lot to catch up on again. I was considering keeping the nail polish idea for when I'm suffering severe study procrastination, but the idea of my daughter loose with a bottle of nail varnish after the chooks makes me think twice about that.
And then the cats might get done too.
I'm persisting with dry pellets and making the pellet porridge boring, so treats are given at a different time and they haven't starved yet which I'm taking as a positive sign.
We had five blue eggs, then none for a week and after I went to clean out the coop, it turned out that Sprinkles had made a hidey nest in there and was collecting her eggs. She's the only one to have done that, but after the clean out and loosing her collection, she seems to have decided to lay in the nest again. It still thrills me to see those little blue eggs.
I've been looking for a chook proof low ground cover for around the run. I'm hoping a low ground cover won't provide homes for snakes. Any ideas are welcome. Cacti perhaps?
