One pen is already occupied by 3 black first cross "Rhode Island White" X Araucana hens and a BBR Araucana rooster.
The next one will have my best Barred rock quartet.
And finally a Lavender Ar rooster with 3 first cross Ar X bantam White Leghorn hens.
(None crossed back to their father of course.)

I have 4 Ar roosters that I am line breeding with.

Sounds good. Lots of fertile eggs on the way then.
I saw one of your Ar cross roos on that "Mutt" thread. Do you have any more photo's of him or other cool creations you could share?

Most of the crosses look fairly ordinary - white/splash with crests.
The Leghorn crosses are racy looking little birds with peacombs and crests.I have been drawing a "map" of my chook empire" setup - I will post that
if anyone is interested.

Yah I am the proud new owner of 37 new quails. With all the bad weather of late(156mm yesterday) I am so pleased with the hatch. Thanks again Sydney quail man for the great eggs that were packaged so well.

As a bonus this morning too I finally managed to capture the dog from next door on my video camera. It's from a distance but you can see it in my yard. The video has been sent off to council now and we will see what comes of it.

Forgot to add that was 37 out of 43 eggs sent so Sam's quail eggs are really fertile.
