Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I've shared it on the Aussie backyard poultry group for you. They have 9,000 members so hopefully it gets a few more sent

You're awesome Appps. Bless you and your feathered kids!

Hatch day for me marans sigh... Too stressful my humidity in the Bator was too low majority got stuck in their shells have to help most of them to hatch. One almost bled out seems ok but very weak, have 2 more stuck chicks 1 that just pip 2 doing nothing they might still pip

crickeys I need sleep

Doesn't sound good. knowing when to assist can be a bit tricky. Best to only give them a breathing hole if they have pipped internally. I have shared this link before but it is essential for anyone even contemplating hatching. It is very helpful when you need to troubleshoot .

Fancy love the pics of your champ ! Can't wait for sept/oct. Just need dates so I can make sure im there !

It is freezing here too this morning Current temp is 2.1c.. I really am not a fan of winter

Seems we are the warmest, it's a lovely warm 3.9 here. Mind you it tells me it "feels like" .7 and it sure does! Wonder what qualifications you need to be the dude who gets to stand outside and tell them what temp it feels like? ;-)

Brrrrrrrr!!!!!! Chilly chilly!!

I'm giving some of my eggs to a lady to test out Casanova's fertility. Fingers crossed he'll be a father soon

I cracked a couple of eggs yesterday to have for dinner and they looked fertile, so I'd say he's been giving his girls some extra "attention" of late

@satay , still no egg from the sweet little blue wheaten marans, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first egg she lays is fertile

Not that I'd hatch pullet eggs - heard too many sad stories from folks who've tried to incubate pullet eggs.

Not a job i wish to apply for. Wonder if fancy is frozen inside her house today.

Hi fellow Aussie Chicken lovers, Im looking at getting an automatic chicken door. i only have a small coop (eBay special) iv looked at a few different designs but I'm thinking the one from http://hensafe.com.au suits my needs (solar, complete kit with door and light sensor) i can throw a spanner around but look simple enough, I'm going to ply up the swinging door i currently have and mount this to the ply. Have any of you used this product? similar? or any suggestions? also Aussie made is a good thing but if an awesome product is made over seas i will consider it.

Sour crop in week old chicks!!! Help! Have given garlic and honey and palpatated their crops (3 of them have it) and have changed their waterer as they kept filling it with wood shavings

I haven't used any as mine is still on my wish list too but that's the one I was thinking about too
