Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Wow .. what a work week, busy, busy, busy .. a few moments to check posts but no time to reply :caf

Howdy friends :frow

TGIF! :celebrate

K Spot that was a close call with the pupper pooch; how is your Marans doing?

Sam congrats on the egg count.

Luke great news you found your Frizzle hen.  Looking forward to hearing how the hatch goes :fl

Fancy thank you for sharing the cliff diving bubs; amazing how they pick themselves up and shake themselves off; no harm done.

Yep, it is good to be able to see or get pictures of the featheries we rehome; glad to hear yours at your friends are doing well.

Hey appps yep, loving the sunshine .. looking forward to spending some time in it on the weekend; lawns to mow, seeds to plant, chookies to play with ;)

Love the bubby pics Deej211; adorable!  Love the other pics also; you have beautiful birds.  I hope your little Polish girl comes home; so sad that she has gone missing :(

ChristieB so sorry to hear about your little girl; I hope she is improving and coping with that leg.

Good luck with the hatch Ash; looks good!

Kleonaptra sorry to hear about your wry tailed roo :(

Anniebee Crows are a concern also; I have rescued a Turtle Dove from a Crow which was trying to eat it alive.

Our little garden helpers are too cute ;)

Sjturner79 congrats on the hatch .. beautiful bubs!

satay loved the story about your Belgian helping in the garden also!  Congrats on the hatch, looking forward to the pics :pop

Now I am sort of all caught up …

Put a tick next to my name as not able to kill anything; I am a sook!

Having said that, I would like to wipe the smile off the face of the Dentist that killed Cecil the lion!

Better yet; do what he did to Cecil .. stalk him at his home; lure him away; shoot him with an arrow; track him, injured, alone and terrified, for 40 hours and right before he gets put down ask him “Enjoying hunting now Sunshine?”

Anyways, I know some people like hunting for sport but I do not; will climb down off my soap box now :duc

So, after going through that hard moult in February, Dusty is definitely moulting neck and head feathers, again!

Cilla and Blondie are taking it in turns, one laying one day and one laying the next and sometimes, both laying on the same day .. wow, two egg days here are rare. LuLu is still showing no signs of returning to laying and I do believe Crystal and KiKi may just beat her to it.

Crystal and KiKi have found their ‘big chicken voice’ but apparently, not the volume control :/

I'm with you ' sister ' , put a gun in the animals hands so he can shoot back , now that would be ' Sport '. Can't imagine why anyone would get a thrill to see such a magnificent creature brought down like that. I would be thrilled to pieces to see one in the wild and the only thing I would like to shoot him with is my SLR.
The human race has much to answer for. RIP Cecil. :(

That's awesome!

KC and the rooster dorain that has been tidbitting her.

Todays 3 eggs

Our current egg collection - it not as different as i though - but still hoping we will start seeing 3 egg days starting from now.

DD and hubby just left for the north of the state. Loaded the horses in the dark and rain. Training with a World Cup rider , thankfully they have the use of an indoor arena as the forecast here is for snow, snow and more snow. My job is to feed all the other fury friends here and keep the fire going, geez gonna be a tough weekend. :D satay you'd love it here by the fire. :lau

I really feel that if I love them, I should be able to do it. Then I KNOW it is done right and they are not in fear or pain and I was with them right to the end. When we move out we wont have supermarkets, and it would be nice to have more than just eggs and veggies to eat. Also a drake I bred last year (Abbey) has a call duck father and pekin x mother, and he is huge with the most beautiful soft feathers. It opens up a market in both meat and down, if I can stomach it.
About predator bird, we get wedge tailed eagles, pied harriers owls...so many. All mine bolt for the shed quaking. But on the flipside a beautiful little white hawk is teaching her fledgling to hunt behind the house and they have never touched the ducks.
I had a young pair of wood ducks hanging around, I havnt seen them for a few days

I hope they are still around and its just that my place is (finally) drying out
