Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Yeah I don't think it was a fertile problem.
I had a little fit at them this morning though, they are not very co-operative at this age:he !!!
The mothers are the worst, with their dust bathing and scratching burring all the feed and water!
Should be better in a week or so....right?

Mine do that too Luke. I am forever cleaning out waterers so the babies have fresh water and not dirt to eat.

One of the big disadvantages of broodies- the burying of water containers.
I put mine on a metre or two of plastic mesh - the stuff you can buy in garden supplies or nurseries,
weighted down with a concrete paver.

Do you know how much yours weigh?
Snapped a pic, they were kind enough to pose. :p He's still working on his tail and wing feathers after a dog attack a while ago.
400

yay! That worked :-D thanks :-D

Cool! They are the nicest ones I can find. But expensive. Also the females are pretty plain so unless you can have a rooster I wouldn't pay that much for an ornamental bird.
The Aussie standard phoenix is much less extravagant than the American so don't be annoyed when compare you bird ( if you get one ) to some of the pictures on Google.
Hope you do get one though, would be very jealous of you and would like to see some pictures.

Yeah, I have been experimenting with different ways to keep the water clean, but boy can those broody hens fling dirt all over the place. I always tell them to respect me more because i do SO MUCH for them but oh no, they wouldn't dream of helping me out!

Well, I was actually thinking of getting eggs to hatch rather than a bird. I know, hatching such fancy expensive birds will be even more stressful but I'm a sucker :p
Contacted them but haven't heard back yet.

Oh yes, eggs might be a better way to go. Hope you find what you are looking for, and if you hatch them all and only want a pair then you could sell the rest and make some money.
