Gooood morning friends

TGIF!

ChristieB I have read the marking of territory thing also; some people swear by it and others believe it has no affect whatsoever.

Our American friends are quite adept at dealing with foxes and coyotes and some of their methods mentioned on multiple threads may be helpful.

So, I thought I would give you all a quick update on the Crow situation … I do believe I have won! Not once this week have I been woken by cawing Crows; even those stubborn two have moved on.

Now, I do not know if they just moved on because they wanted to or the CD actually did the trick. I know the back neighbour stopped feeding them also … anyways, peace reigns and I am one very happy Vegemite

They have come back a couple of times but only briefly; I just have to walk out into the garden and they leave. Crazy lady with long pole and water pistol appears to help also

I was woken at 05:45am this morning by the girls raising the alarm and because of all the fox-chatter of late, went flying out the door, still getting dressed on the way .. good job I did; I do believe they were being stalked by a goldfish!!

Yep, because of the warmer weather the goldfish have been getting a little frisky and jumping out of the water.

I was watching the girls yesterday afternoon and KiKi was freaking out every time a goldfish broke the surface of the pond .. so funny

:ya , and good riddance to them. If you watched the doco, I'm guessing you fall under the classification of ' evil mask ' . :lau
The sun is shining and it is a glorious spring day. Hot fed and hayed everyone , went out last night with the torch and sprayed a few legs for leg mites and mixing up some wormer for everyone as i type. Time to tackle the lawns, phew the spring grass is definitely in. Enjoy your day everyone. :)

Hello!!

I am from the Brisbane Area is. Queensland and I am glad to see many different Aussies. I was tech American but I married my wife who's Aussie and I've been here 3 years ;)

We have a new flock and we could use some advice from locals on what we can do with our rooster. Even with his collar his crowing is sadly starting to bother the neighbours we were looking to rehome but we didn't like the people's interested from gum tree.

We
Rescued our chicks from a hatching program at my work so an abusive family who we knew killed their last lot couldn't take them.

Not to offend anyone but we're not apposed to having him slaughter if it's humanely done we don't want him to go be abused to fought

Welcome! Yes makes me wonder at the mentality of some people. Only last night watched a show where they charged a guy for egging on his dog to kill a chicken and sharing video of it proudly on Facebook.

I started early with the camera; I planned to take some pics tomorrow but the Blonde girls gave me reason to take a few fun shots this afternoon which I hope you do not mind me sharing ......

PS. If you are a member of some Grasshopper Protection Society or Save the Grasshopper Fund etc .. do not read on!

"Ah .. Grasshopper!"

So KiKi (above) found herself a rather large grasshopper .. sadly Blondie also had grasshopper cravings and KiKi lost her find ....

Blonde fuzzy butts!

Shake, shake, shake ... shake, shake, shake ...

Crystal and KiKi are just shy of 6 months old so I thought it was time for some posing shots .... can you see Crystal's blue feathers? If you remember they both have 5 toes, so thinking Silkie X but no idea with what!

LOL! @Teila thats hilarious! Gorgeous fred u have there Sam :) do love my LSs. Mr rooster hey slagasse haha how original. Sounds like a name my kids would give to them :p

Well it was rather gorgeous spending the 10 mins or so out there this morning watching them come out of the roost for the first time. Ive never moved them all to a new place before it was very interesting. First Rodney came out and went for a look and peck around, keeping watch and well on guard. After a couple of minutes Scarlett (top hen) decided she wanted out too so he went and brought her out and they pecked and explored together. Few minutes later the next hen in the heirarchy came out slowly and Rodney went and escorted her over also. Couple minutes later he went back and called out for the next girl in line and escorted her over as well. One at a time it was so gorgeous! I had to go in and get ready for school and work before i came out to see them all out so assume it continued one by one but i didnt see.

They love it here :) so happy to see them enjoying themselves. The whole family is happy with our new home :-D

Sorry to hear about the fox MyHaven i didnt scroll back far enough to see why we were on that subject :-( yeah any predator urine is supposed to be the best
