Beautiful photo. I can tell you it's a square-tailed kite. Females get bigger to 56cm long and wing span 130cm the voice is hoarse yelp or weaker twitter / chatter. Page112 bird 284 in Claremont field guide tothe birds if Australia. Lol personal hobby ILOVE Raptors!Had a visitor this afternoon. He did laps just coasting round and round in circles for about 10 minutes. He wasnt really paying much attention to our chickens though they were on guard and the rooster was watching it carefully. He seemed more interested in something in the yard one or two over and went down there a couple of times. Last time he seemed to vanish so not sure if someones pet bunny was being a snack and thats why he didnt come back up. Any idea what type of Hawk? he is exactly? Eating chickens aside they really are a beautiful bird arent they.
You would think so appps wouldn't you but apparently not.
A good story for the morning. Anyone that has been following this thread for a while would remember the story of Pearly my lesbian budgie. She laid eggs for the first time in 3 years earlier this year but they kept disappearing..( Her male suitors I was get getting for her kept dying -- thought she might have had a hand in that lol) Well she has been sitting on 7 eggs for agers now and I really wasn't expecting anything to hatch. I checked her again this morning and she has 1 babySo maybe Pearly was not really not into men but not into the men I have given her til this last one lol.
