Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Had a visitor this afternoon. He did laps just coasting round and round in circles for about 10 minutes. He wasnt really paying much attention to our chickens though they were on guard and the rooster was watching it carefully. He seemed more interested in something in the yard one or two over and went down there a couple of times. Last time he seemed to vanish so not sure if someones pet bunny was being a snack and thats why he didnt come back up. Any idea what type of Hawk? he is exactly? Eating chickens aside they really are a beautiful bird arent they.
Beautiful photo. I can tell you it's a square-tailed kite. Females get bigger to 56cm long and wing span 130cm the voice is hoarse yelp or weaker twitter / chatter. Page112 bird 284 in Claremont field guide tothe birds if Australia. Lol personal hobby ILOVE Raptors!

A good story for the morning. Anyone that has been following this thread for a while would remember the story of Pearly my lesbian budgie. She laid eggs for the first time in 3 years earlier this year but they kept disappearing..( Her male suitors I was get getting for her kept dying -- thought she might have had a hand in that lol) Well she has been sitting on 7 eggs for agers now and I really wasn't expecting anything to hatch. I checked her again this morning and she has 1 baby :) So maybe Pearly was not really not into men but not into the men I have given her til this last one lol.

Don't say that, that would make hubby right and he is unbearable when he is right lol

Reason I thought little eagle instead was the way it just cruised without seeming to flap its wings. I thought kits hovered more?

A slight update on the dog case. Got a visit from Tony from the council just a bit ago. They managed to open the original file I sent them but the quality was not good enough to use in court. As I suspected. Bugger. But he has set up some sort of game camera that is sensor operated on one of my trees pointing down towards where the dog gets in. He is going to leave it there for about a week to see if he can get a picture of it coming under the fence. Said to him bet the ruddy thing doesn't come under the fence for a week now.. Fingers crossed for me everyone that we finally manage to get proof of this dog and what it is doing.
