Omg they're so cute! I've never seen a baby quail before. His head is the same size as his body
Baby's are too too cute.
Got a phone call from the council yesterday as I suspected they didn't get the dog on camera. So there is nothing else council can do now unless I can get a better picture of it or it actually attacks someone.
Have lots of baby quails in the incubator when I woke this morning. Will get pictures later as my battery is flat.
Solution to crowing roostersSomeone at work told me how he stopped his rooster from crowing at night and early morning.
I have a guinea pig hutch which is 40 cm high. I put my rooster in it for the night. It is high enough for him to walk around comfortably, but he could not stretch his neck enough to crow.
Let him out when he is allowed to crow. This was not a solution for me as I live in suburbs and there is no roosters allowed. My rooster was in the cage for a few days and there was no crowing.
You can also try putting a perch just below the ceiling of the coop. If there is only one rooster he will be on the top of the pecking order, so will perch up high, unable to crow until he gets out in the morning.
I understand that some neighbours complain about roosters crowing at night and early morning, others complain about roosters crowing no matter what time. Some complain just for the sake of it...
Super frustrating.
Is it possible to catch dogs like you can ferrel cats etc? When my parents had a ferrel cat problem they hired a cage from the pound and then just had to ring when they had one for them to take away. Just thinking if you catch him in a cage on your land they can hardly say he isnt in there?
