Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Sorry to hear about Mr Frizz:hugs   Isn't it amazing how animals surprise us constantly. They must have notice her need. I would be very proud of your gobblers too.

The g's are great guys. They are father and son. After the girls were taken out by foxes people told me i should eat them but they have been such great boys i couldn't do it. Big G the dad i have had for 7 years . I am not sure how old he is as he wandered into a neighbours place as a full grown turkey. No one claimed him so he ended up here and his son is 6 months younger.

@satay I am so sorry about Mr Frizz :( Always sad when one of our beloved pets passes on.

I can't remember who mentioned the Hensafe automatic door to me, but mine arrived today. What a marvellous invention. It was really easy to set up, and it just worked.

I hope it lasts!

Slightly off topic, does anyone else have parrots?

I used to have a nanday conure (rehomed him) and a sun conure (died last fall at 23 years old).

700

Not a very good pic of Pasqually-sun conure- but best one I have on this computer.

I currently have a rainbow lorikeet Squirty that loves to talk her head off all day , 4 Indian ring necks and budgies. I had a Quaker parrot a few years back that got killed by a snake.

I have three green cheek conures, they are awesome and very cheeky. They will be 9 years old soon.
We used to have a Sun conure and oh my gosh I loved him but we had to rehome as he was too loud for our neighbours.

I still miss him! We found him somewhere with a girlfriend for him though so he doesn't miss us lol.

Can you post a pic of your door? I would live to see it.

I have a cockatiel. Saved it from the crows when it was a baby. It's name is Ink. My then 18month old named it.

..... and remind everyone that you live in Queensland:confused:

That is quite extraordinary for those parts of Australia - MINUS temps ????????

Living in Upwey, Victoria - we expect really cold chilly-wind stuff during winter, and the last few days have been between 0°C to about 6.   But that is to be expected.

Up so far north - no way. ?   Climate change ?  - real or not.    I am erring on the side of real ....  ( without political implications ).

Where Craig is ( Mawson - Antarctica ) they experienced over the weekend, temps well over / under ( ??? ) MINUS 33°c.   .... I don't know how it goes once it gets to minus - when it is up or down - over or under ?? .

Cheers folks ... .soon will be Spring, although if the currawongs have any say in it, it ain't over yet here.

.........

Hi AB, parts of Qld can get cold - not like your part of the country, but frosts are common in parts. I always remember hoping for a frost when I was a kid on my grandparents dairy farm in the South Burnett. The crunch under your feet.

I also remember waking up toasty warm in my swag outside Roma to move and hear the sound of cracking ice which had frozen over the top of me.

Cold as that, I prefer a dry heat.

Cheers

And now you know they had a far more important purpose than dinner.
