Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Yeah righto, thanks for the help, do you think the natural heating inside would be enough for them or need a lamp inside, as I don’t have a broody hen.
I think you don’t want to over heat them… having 30+ Temps during the day inside should be enough especially if you have a sunny place in the house where they can get the suns rays but not bake themselves…. If not you can always partly cover the box with a blanket if they look or sound cold… at night depending on how much the temps drop you can use a normal heater (like you do in winter to keep yourself warm) just don’t put it too close to the box…. I’ve done this with my last lot of chicks…. They are now 12-14 weeks old

Ok, Thankyou I will try it out and see how it goes😊

Just monitor the temperatures over the next few days.. it doesn't hurt for you to have a heat source on standby just in case they need it given the drastic temperature fluctuations in the Inner West though I don't think it'll be a problem now that it's mid-Summer. But you'll need the heat source regardless in future hatches anyway so it's good insurance policy and investment.

I normally set my brooder temperature at 30 deg for the first week then gradually drop it down to 25 deg for 2 more weeks. I took my last batch out by 2.5 weeks old as the outdoor temperature was really warming up then. They were sleeping out by then and the night temperatures were between 12 - 15 degs with day temps between 25 - 30.

He has grown so much… 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Heya @Poultry mum!

Has he? I see him everyday I hardly notice! :D

He's really amazing.. let's me cuddle him multiple times without kicking up much fuss.. it is as if he enjoys the cuddling! He's actually much less feisty than he was a few weeks back believe or not!

When I'm cleaning up his bedding, he follows me and scratches all the mulch up.. thinking he's helping...🤦‍♀️

he really is a truely beautiful bird…

Yeah he's really gorgeous.. the beard is growing out quite nicely! Now I'm tempted to get more blue eggs from you!:lol:

but I may be slightly biases 🤣🤣🤣
:highfive:

that makes the two of us!

I love him to bits! He's such a darling! 🥰
