I am having a similar dilemma, I have one female duck here who lost here friend and like you am wondering whether or not to get a friend or just keep her by herself. She doesn't seem to be ver lonely, after all she does have 25 chicken friends and seem to be enjoying having the whole water tun to her self.lol.
I just set my incubator with some eggs from another breeder and my few from the last few days seeing how I wormed them with ivermectin last week so I can't eat their eggs... Yay! The season begins!!!

Cute Faverolle K spot, I love them too

I've got an r -com pro 50 (takes 48 standard eggs). And a few three egg 3 r-coms to back up any broodys. I had too many crappy manual incubators fail me so I dug in deep and got myself a good one. To tell you the truth I don't ever want to look back, you can program them to do anything and I can go away for the weekend knowing it can take care of it's self... Even if the power goes out for a bit it picks up where it left off...A lot less stressful than my previous ones and a lot easier to clean as well...
And sure thing Ash, I'm happy to spread these beautiful birds into fellow chook lovers yards

I'm only happy with the pigment on about half a dozen of these,(I'm picky

) the rest I will most likely be selling and pairing up with some of my roos with darker genes.

O.K, thanks. I am just finding it real hard what one to buy.
I really want to make the right decision as I am buying it my self.
I think my r- com was the best decision I made re chickens... You can get 20 egg models as well... The few things that have gone wrong or worn out over the years I was able to order parts and replace them myself VERY EAILY... I got it direct from r- com too, a lot cheaper than from over here and they are incredibly supportive over the phone... They have a place where you can buy them here in VIC and they will service them too as part of their warranty... But even for the low power consumption factor they won me over :)
