Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Blondi - you will defiantly need to treat your dogs as well..................(be on the safe side)

you can buy collars that deal with paralysis ticks (grayish blue green big ones) as well as tablets

I would highly suggest you get them if you haven't already

On the subject of kelpies- here's my naughty little girl-
Oh my gosh, what a sweety, she is just gorgeous Ash ... how old is she? Here is my little girl Nya (there are chooks in the background so I don't feel so bad like it is turning into a Kelpie thread but they are also gaurdians of our flocks so hey, why not!)

Hi Ben :) Sorry to hear you lost your flock to Mareks, that must have been terrible...
I hope your girl is feeling better Blondiechic, we have never had ticks here(touch wood) but I believe that Immogen my guinea fowl may help in that regard...
She helps to alert for predators too

Blondi - I am not 100% sure it was a tick but a while back one of my SLW chicks had a fit. It was horrible and the only thing we can think it was, was a tick.

Ash and Chook, your Kelpies are wonderful!!! Ash how is she naughty with that innocent look? Chook I have never seen a black Kelpie before, she is amazing.
The thing that lets my dog down as a kelpie is his floppy ears, he gets that from his Collie mum.

She turns one year old in 2 weeks.
She loves to play with the chooks, but is too rough and killed one a couple of months ago.
So strict separation now.

Well happy birthday to her in 2 weeks!
That is a bugger, we thought the same with our pup but he just doesn't know what to do with them when he catches them.lol. So now he just leaves them alone...until the chicks arrive!
Is she alright with the goats?

Oh god, don't use small businesses for travelling pets. First Anitrans' truck broke down, so they were out. Then I went with Ray Coombs (who comes highly recommended by chicken people in my area). They were supposed to be here today.

I spent today fox proofing and heaving almost a tonne of sand around to make sure everything was ready only to learn less than 1/2 an hour ago that my Peafowl were not coming, and he couldn't pick them up until August. Turns out he'd cancelled is trip north as there weren't enough enquirys. He apologized for the misunderstanding... What misunderstanding? He never responded to my messages asking how the Peachicks were going to tel me they weren't coming! I also sent a message on Wednesday asking the lady, whom i'm buying them off, if they were picked-up. She responded just now (at about 5pm today) asking why they weren't picked up...

Dammit, I'm seriously worried she'll sell them to someone else (I've already paid for them, but I don't expect her to hold them forever). I'm calling Jetpets and dogtainers on Monday to see f I can get them picked up this week, even if it's going to cost me fortune to fly them here.

What a bugger.

P.s. Looking at all the Kelpie pics is making me feel better. Lovely dogs!

I know this man and I was going to get some of his birds when he put them up for sale, but they are quite expensive http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/rept...-sale-100-organically-fed-parents-/1022603641

Sorry Colourful about all that!! I hate having to rely on someone and they just let you down, it suck because you can't do much about it.
Hope you get it all sorted and hope you do eventually get those Peafowl.
