Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Pinky -

Got this from a site, this is a description of what the classic Yoko should look like ---- Yokohama chicken: brilliant, pure white with plumage; with red across the shoulders and back, red breast with white flecks in the Red Shouldered variety; long flowing type; long saddle feathers; and sickle feathers dragging the ground. They have a walnut-shaped comb, small or missing wattles, orange red eyes, and yellow legs.

The photo you have does look like a Minohiki but he also looks like this fella...just not as spectacular.lol. This is a Onagadori.

Yokohama's tails from what I have seen go out straight in line with the back. But the photo you have isn't like that.
I would say he is probably a bit of a mix, maybe not 100% Yoko.

Hope this helps

Thanks Luke. I think I will have to wait and see in that case to see what they prefer. Lol....I Still have got 5 slackers to go so I will see what they do. First layer didn't like them she kicked it out before laying so leave one with no egg for her.

Cool!
It really depends on each individual.
Mine love their golf balls.lol. If I take one away from the sitting hen and put it outside of the nest she will crane her neck out and roll it back under herself

Lol. That is hilarious ... Their funny little things.

I have 2 fake eggs and leave them in there, although they don't really pay attention to the one in the nesting box

I think I now have 2 girls on the lay now. A couple of times now I've come home after work to find 2 eggs in 2 different places. My Speckled Sussex uses the same place every time and one other who I have NO idea who could be the culprit.

I have 2 girls it could be - my Orpington X or the Fav.
Can't be the Australorp because she's in quarantine.

It isn't my Araucana because the egg isn't coloured - it's a milky light brown colour.
It's not my Light Sussex; they've never been up on the shelf in the coop before where I've found the eggs, nor have I ever got an egg out of either of them.
It's not my Wellies; they aren't POL and the egg colour is too light for them.
