Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Just went over to put everyone to bed and found 3 x bearded partridge silkies hatched, one has a vaulted skull. Very cute , when my camera gets back from WA I will get some pics.
So frustrating , not having the camera , this morning there were a pair of swans right in front of the house with 4 x fluffy cygnets. I guess I'll just have to keep it stored in the memory bank. Spring is in the air.

Grats on your hatch, Oh to see swans outside would be amazing. :)

Thanks , satay. Hope to have a camera in hand next time. Took some pics of the chicks with my iPhone . But nowhere near the quality of the " good old " cannon. We had thunder and lightening here at 4 am, now it's raining " again ". Lucky I got the lawns done yesterday.

I have so forgotten what real rain is like. We got a shower on Saturday but it was that light I had to have the sprinklers still going on my fruit trees at the same time.

I am only half way through mowing my huge block and they are forecasting rain for today :( Mind you, there is not one cloud in the sky at the moment lol And to make it worse, I am not going to be home this morning to get it finished in case it does :(
Oh well, corn will be happy and so will my water tanks

That's usually when it rains here Sandeec when I am half way through mowing and then you have to wait a few days to mow and you are back to starting all over again lol. Mind you I don't think I have had to mow at all since about May.

one of my big girls.

This looks the quail we have here in the front paddocks. Our driveway is 300 m long and one frosty morn I was taking the kids to school, got half way down the drive and there was , what looked like , a big rock in the middle of the drive. Far too big to drive over. So I got out to move it. As I got closer they rolled off one at a time and ran into the long grass. It was a mound of quail all laying on top of each other keeping warm. I just stood there scratching my head.
