Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

The chicks got and up grade on their aquarium. How come these 2 chicks ( the ones I'm looking after ) are at least double the size of the ones the broody is looking after? It's not because they are older. I can already see a rooster:p .
Incubator chicks are always a lot bigger, and usually feather faster, than broody chicks. It is like feedlotting them. Ultimately, they should be the same size. Cute chicks, Pinky. Fancy, did you say SUN??? In Tassie???? ;) Did you get onto that WA person, Satay? Or do you have enough poultry? :lau

My little Araucanas. Hatched 22 out of 24. Pretty pleased with that-
turning up the Rcom half a degree has made a difference.
In the foreground right is the chick with the domed skull, on the left
littel fellow with head bent down - a form of 'wryneck" perhaps?

Hi, I am a new (ish...) addition to this site and am also an Aussie. I have a flock of 9 Silkie crosses, 2 White Leghorns, 1 Isa and 1 Jersey Giant, and am hoping to add a few Araucana's in soon. I got a phone number of an Araucana breeder but can't get a hold of her, she never answers.

I have read around this site and on other poultry sites and I have seen that the Aussie Araucana's are slight different to the American ones and have a tail. Is that true..? I don't particularly like them without their tails (no offence to those who love them..) and was wondering if they ARE different. Thanks for reading :)
