Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

They have been probed sexed and DNA sexed and they aren't crowing, they also have no signs of being a rooster.. Also are developing their crest very slowly unlike roosters..

Oh that is interesting, I've heard DNA sexing mentioned on US posts and had wondered if we can do that over here. Where did you have to go to have that done?
Would be helpful if you were breeding something like silkies. Was it expensive?

You need to go to proper pet stores or hatcheries! I live on the Gold Coast and have worked in pet stores for years and all the stores I've worked in have them all DNA sexed before arrival! But I traveled to Brisbane to a big hatchery.. They do all the sexing there by a trained person... So we are guaranteed females.. It's much better as I didn't want a rooster as I don't live on property and we are not allowed to own them..

I'm unsure where you live bit the person that does the sexing lives there and I think you can take ur chickens there.. It wouldn't be expensive as I got my isa browns ect for $9 each sexed! :) they also sell a huge range of sexed bantams and silkies ect :)

There is a guy at peak crossing out this way that does it think he charges $1 each or something like that. Isa browns are sexable as day olds so they would not need to be done. Would be handy for other breeds if you need ot know right away. Of course nothing is 100% when it comes to sexing so a few may still slip through that are roos.

I got my runner drake from the people you mentioned. Wasn't overly fussed with the quality of some of there birds when I was there for the prices they charge but the drake was fine.
