Ditto! Just got home, kids into bed, and headed off to sleep myself. Can't believe my 4.5 and 6.5 yr olds made it to 2am!! Or myself for that matter!

*yawn*

Happy New year all :)
Jay 1400sq might seem a lot of land to a city person but it really is only tiny.(sheep eat alot fo grass and can be quite noisy) If you want to hear some silly laws well. WE live in a rural community where 5/6 acres is more like a house block lol. The draw backs to a small country town though is people can be narky. I swear if you pulled out of your drive way without indicating some days someone would go complain about it So i decided to ask the council via email exact numbers of what animals I can have on my 6 acres i got no response. Some neighbours say 1 pig or 1 sheep plus 12 poultry and no ducks.Apparently ducks are not allowed in sommerset region (oops some one forgot to tell my girls that ).I looked up lockyer council as they are the next council over and they say 60 poultry including ducks no limit on birds and 2 pigs or 10 goats 1 horse. Think I'll just go by that one lol.

Well i live in a semi suburban area few houses around but not proper town, and it's great we are friends with all of our neighbors. If i where you i would just sit under the radar with your poultry as i do, because if you start asking questions there going to notice you and then you might have to loose your ducks

which is not cool. I have no plans on asking the council about my poultry, partly because they are on council land lol, they are like the undercover fowls.

Look who arrived on the last day of 2012-

The state of the art chick ramp.

Only got 2 out of 4 but still happy.

The black one all fluffed up.

Yellow one hasn't fluffed up just yet.

Teaching them how to feed on day 2

mumma and chicks.

Not entirely sure on breed (lucky dip) as i got some hens from a friend who had a rooster so i just popped the eggs under the broody to see what they'd come out like, the rooster is an OEG and the hens i think are bantam WLH's or some white bantam thing.lol.

Dito, undercover. My neighbour gave me a rooster as a welcome to the neighbourhood gift, not keen to see him go but i suspect i could bribe my council into letting me keep him (based on their recent rulings and previous evidence from Australian council corruption investigations).
