Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Don't say that, that would make hubby right and he is unbearable when he is right lol

Reason I thought little eagle instead was the way it just cruised without seeming to flap its wings. I thought kits hovered more?

LOL sorry they like to flight lower and around the gums and trees i saw in your photos.... its definatley a square tail kite. Kites falcons and inparticular hawks will 'hover' over prey before diving on it. Its about the only time they do..... and Kites love to glide about hence the name "kite"

Well just spoke to the council guy. The complaint is that they hear him from about 5am which is when he crows so guess I can't say they are making it up.

He said they can't force us to get rid of him but if we don't fix the problem in a reasonable time they will start fining us so how that isn't forcing us to get rid of it I don't know. So.....we are going to try and soundproof their house which is actually fully open on one side at the moment (just wire)
He said he would give us a ring after Easter.

Just makes me so sad. He is a pet and you know deep down that re homing will probably mean he ends up dead.

Oh and satay never thought I'd say it but hope the neighbors dog comes over every night this week.
Also, can they not set a trap? Or doesn't that work with dogs?

Hello, I realise I am way late as usual in the conversation but I wanted to say how pleased I am you have caught the dog on tape - my neighbours dogs used to take my girls (tears galore shed) but I didn't know what was happening to them, they told me once about one just before they moved (even though I asked them to keep the dogs on their side of the property). Since they moved I have had all my girls remain.

With the rooster - I do hope you get to keep him and that your neighbours sleep through him. We aren't supposed to have them where we are - neighbours up and down the street have and we all love them (they had to give them away eventually). I had to re-home one of my girls who became a boy but he went to a sensational home and I suspect they love him as much as I do as he thinks he is a dog! He spent more time with me and my dogs than he did with the girls! They send me photos and updates regularly which is very nice.

I had to take my silkie to the vet the other day (he finally returned from holiday). They thought she had an ingrown feather but it didn't burst so they had to operate and got a tumour out of her the size of a large brazil nut, poor little thing...she has stitches and everything. I had her separated for a couple of days - she was out the front garden and the others out the back. She must have missed me as I was working out the back and there she appeared on the deck, she had walked through the whole house, along the deck, jumped down the stairs and promptly pecked the silkie she always harasses!
