Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hmm the hard part is I won't be there to supervise most of the time and its not my pen so can't do too much to it. It is fairly large from memory though and ill have to check how many hens he has now. Unfortunately I doubt he has any idea who are the favourites of the current rooster. He is happy to take him but that will be as far as his interest goes.

Mind you didn't hear his rooster once while I was there today. Do you think its too much to hope it karked it lol

Ill go and have a good look at it all tomorrow. It's sort of out of sight only ever been up there once because they were making a hell of a noise. Turned out it was because a hawk was sitting on the fence.

Okay so checked out the bosses flock. Only about 8-10 hens. That's not going to be enough for two roosters to share happily is it.

It really depends on the flock. I have in the large fowl about 35/40 hens and 10 roosters. Mine free range too and at various times some are separated for breeding. I have not had to many problems. If they are locked up in a coop all day it may be a different story.

Hey guys, I've just gotten some Houdan eggs and was wondering about cleaning the incubator. I gave it a scrub with soap when I shut it off. Is there anything special I should do? Does the humidity pad need to be changed every time?

Hi pinky

You probably need to take the fan cover off and vacuum the dust out of the fan. I havent changed the humidity pad yet- just washed it.
If you need more you can use Homebrand sponge cloths from the supermarket cut up - much cheaper than buying their replacement pads.

Doing the happy dance!!

Found a better home for Ed. Mentioned to a friend who knew a lady keeps poultry so she checked and she will take him! 54 acres and 40 hens. The young fellow will be worn out lol

So he leaves tomorrow, bit sad But now the kids can go back to cuddling their hens without him getting jealous. :)
