Sorry, quick Q.

How much do you usually pay for a quail?
Just need a number.

Sydney Quailman sells his for $1.50 a chick, $5 for adults or $5 for a dozen eggs. He also posts eggs, I know because I have some due to hatch Tuesday.

The incubator I have works on 12v DC and draws very little.
I also have a brooder from them. No light bulb, but a heating pad on legs (heat from above).

I have never hatched chicken eggs, but had good results with quails.

You will have to wait for my Araucana's to start laying again.lol. I reckon by the time they do My araucana chicks would be close to laying.lol.

What does that mean? Do hens need to be a certain age before you hatch their eggs?

POL mean Point of Lay. If you hatch chicken eggs that are from a beginner layer the results can be all over the shop with chicks that have bad immune systems or that are weak. Also the eggs are less likely to even hatch.
I would sell fertile eggs when the pullets have really gotten the hand of laying.

What else lives in their "home"?
Not a clear question - quarantine from what exactly?

At the moment I don't have any quails so they would be the first so I don't have to keep them from infecting any thing. They will be away from the chickens. I am planning on putting then in a big Aquarium with a mesh lid to let ventilation in. I was just wondering if they could go straight in their or If I should put them in a temp cage so I can treat for lice etc.

I would suggest you do. That way you can worm and de-mite them and if they have anything, it's not going to be transferred to their new run.

Have fun with the quails! I have some eggs from the Quailman going into lock-down tomorrow and I can wait to meet them

They can be aggressive toward one another but I've found that so long as you keep an eye on (and not introduce other quails to a set colony) they are fine and easy to handle.

I agree if they are going in a pen alone no need to quarantine if they are going with other quails or birds I would say 2 weeks should be fine for quails.
