Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

hay...LOL. More chickens Satay, you just cannot help your self. I find Farmstock hard to navigate. It's so hard to read sometimes and most of the stock for sale is up your way and down in Sydney.
Your going into the wellie's now.lol. Good luck trying to stay on just a few.

:lau :gig wow, I cannot believe that you could be so scared of a chicken. Especially those lovely wellies. to funny!
Also great photo's. Very pretty flock.

This will be my first purchase of hens in many years Luke. I normally buy eggs and hatch my own but these were just to good to pass up. I have seen pictures of them so am excited to go pick them up tomorrow.

Counting down the days now till quarantine is over!! had them four weeks saturday.

I'm planning to move them to a run inside the main run for a few weeks to get used to each other. The old are all pretty chilled out chickens except the one at the top of the pecking order but even she isn't too bad, just not a big fan of sharing sometimes lol

The other thing I read is wait till the new are the same size as the old. The one with the dodgy beak is a lot smaller than the others, do I wait for her to be the same size do you think (long time off I suspect) or just for the others to be knowing they have each other for support so she isn't going in small by herself.

Btw its 4 new being added to 3 old.

I wouldn't worry about the size appps. In my main chicken pen this morning I have 2 turkey gobblers all the hens some banties and mumma muscovey lol. My gobblers just go in which ever pen suits them for the night .

You may find a bit of rough housing goes on when they are first introduced but they should quickly working out a pecking order and peace will be returned.

Hi everyone, I am back after a little break (went away). Love all the new photos posted in the last two weeks!
I had a housesitter who looked after all my birds and two cats, all went well.
I am taking home another four baby chicks tonight...
I know, I wanted an EE and one of the dark brown egg layers, but then saw the little chicks that are looking for a home and decided to take some.
They hatched a week ago in the daycare centre - it is the "henny penny hatching" thing they do for the kids every year.
No idea what I am getting, they come from a commercial hatchery and may include:
Australorp, New Hampshire, Sussex, Black and White Leghorn, and Lohmanns.

At the front? They are brahma's have them in a few colours. They are off to my dad's next weekend. Had to give up some to get the new wellies and dad already has some of my other brahmas. He has acreage too and foster kids with disabilities so they will enjoy the brahmas I am sure. I will definitely post some pics of the new wellies. Am picking them up around lunch time tomorrow. Did you have any luck gertting wellie eggs red?
