Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Send some of those laying vibes this way please. I'm down to one egg every few days :-(

Can't wait till the favs come of age, which I'm expecting to be early August.

Lol mine has I'm lucky to get one egg every 2nd day. It's slowly improving since the moult. I made a calgrit wheat cracked corn sunflower seed and protein mix today they loved it as a snack
How many chickens do you have though?
I have 14 hens that should be laying, so 10 is alright.

*LAY eggs* Lay eggs* *Lay Eggs* - Mental thought.lol.

Mine are laying - I have three silkies all laying an egg a day (yeah!) and of my three big girls I am getting between one and two a day - my Molly seems to still be finishing her moult...she is also the less nosy of the girls and a bit dim but I am putting that down to the moult...

Please can you tell me - do you think my fluffies are getting too hot at night? They sleep in a dog kennel but when I clean them out it is sometimes a bit damp and I read that they do that instead of sweating so maybe I have too much bedding in there? They have a base of newspaper, horse wood shavings and then hay - its one of those plastic kennels where the lid comes off as I wanted them to be warm...

Love seeing all your baby photos!

I use one of those as temp housing befor introducing my new girls in. They do leak and can have condensation from dew ie the out side being cold the girls inside being warm so water will form on the walls. I would probably try a tarp or something over the top with a bit of a gap to warm up the outside that might fix the problem? Anyone else have any ideas?

Thank you satay! Lol, all the eggs will be mine! *Colourful cackles evily in the corner*

Well done SamSam, your eggy thoughts worked! Today I got my very first EVER Duck egg! I don't know if it's from my Khaki Campbell, Muscovy or the fawn cross, but it's an egg!

And, of course, he's a photo of it!

The duck egg is followed by Isa Brown eggs, then PR Bantam, Japanese Bantam, D'uccle and Quail eggs.

And here is a question for those who have Araucana (like Ash

): Is Stuart (the pullet below) a Rumpless Araucana, and should I still breed from her if she is? I don't know if it's desirable to have Rumpless in my lines.

Here are her brother and sister for tail comparison.
