"Hi all the team at 7pm.

The chickens have been set to be destroyed  on Friday afternoon and their death sentence is on Tuesday.
The links below is a way to contact Mr Joel Fitzgibbon so people can give their opinions.

The Prime minister!!

Okay so I don't do twitter but is there a way to start a tweet a thon in some way? Social media can move **** fast. Lets get it going viral somehow?? The more it travels the more media will pick it up.

This message is interesting and gives me a little hope....

I have sent an email to Joel Fitzgibbon, Kevin Rudd, Kate Lundy (our member for ACT in the Senate) and Gai Brodtmann (member for Canberra) a copy is below -

As the past Chairman of the Australian Rare Poultry Importation Syndicate I strongly urge that you put a stay of execution on the 4000 chickens currently in quarantine on Torrens Island. These chickens represent the first importation of new gene stock plus new varieties of chickens in this country since 1948. We believe that the execution order was issued using a too narrow testing base.

These chickens are kept in four separate rooms on Torres Island and the likely hood of one chicken in one room infecting the chickens in the other three rooms is highly unlikely. We have received veterinary advice plus have read scientific journals which suggest that by proper testing and elimination of any affected birds this would eliminate any chance of salmonella pullorum spreading to the community.

On several occasions, I have attempted to contact the previous minister, Joe Ludwig and yourself to have a meeting concerning issues that arose from day one of our program at Torrens Island
