Sardines or other tinned fish in springwater are great too... My chooks go psycho for them!

Just thought I would post these for a bit of fun to take my mind off things, normally I can't see much detail through my eggs so I took the opportunity with the Frizzles to take some pics during the day.....
This one was clear...

This one has a blood ring...

And these ones have beautiful lil babies in them

The photos were taken by my three year old... 4 were really good and 1 had very tiny development so probably won't do well and the other two are obviously out now...

Hey guys, Kingsley here. (obviuosly new to this palce as well)

Recently myself and my partner got rabbits. Well, about 5 months ago. and in my efforst of making an outdoor 'area' for them, have inturn, created a 'farm' now. Lol.
we now have two rabbits and 3chickens. I thought iwould find a place where i can just find out little bits of info on bringing up the chickens.. pretty sure 1 is a rooster, at around 7 weeks now (bought two chicks together at around 4 weeks age) Maybe>? im not sure of their precise age, but they have only jsut semifinished getting their feathers come through now.

Now, the bigger female one, 'Ember' is awesome, very vibrant orange colour and is proly about 2 and a half months old, and then there is 'Flame' a grey'ish' black colour (and has very prolific red bits comin from his forehead/under beak and even has what looks like, lush spots on his cheeks (one of the twins i purchased. Lol. and 'Ashes' who is a very dark black bird, with a slight blue tinge to his feathers. Obviously i do not know much about much atm, (hence why iu am here) will post photos as soon as i can work out how to (to help find what breeds they are if possible. and to show the 'farm like' area i have made. Just pretty much comin here to learn the hows n whats about chickens.

so yeah, thanks and speak to you all soon

oh boy! wow! 70 chickens?? glad i don't have a property big enough for that!! me n my fiancee are thinking baout getting a mini pig, since pigs and chickens seem to eat the same types of food, would make it easier. (but i doubt we would actualyl get one any time soon - too much maintenance - not enough time)

The 'farm' (as we call it now) started out as a rabbit hutch. about 1.5mtrs by about the same. but realised that with 2rabbits, they needed to be out more, so i made a fenced off area using recycled pallets, chicken wire, and some store bought pine (for the gate). then realised we could probably have a chicken. so we got Ember, and then, read that they lay better in future if they have a friend, That turned into 3 chickens because, 'the first one was cute, and we couldn't get one of the chickens (from the same group of chickens) as it would be an orphan, and be lonely, so had to get the two . Lol.

I have been reading a few things, and i am guessing that about now i am supposed to start preparing the chickens for when they start laying.. ( i am led to believe this hsould be happening within the next month or two) so just really thought i wil ljoin a forum thingo, make some friends, and learn a lot :)

Oh my gosh! I so want a miniature pig, they are sooooo cute, but I've heard they eat heaps.... Depends on what breed they are as to when they start laying but it's usually from around 20-30weeks old...
