My mother is on this experimental injections for rheumatoid arthritis. She has to have a needle a week for 16 weeks. Ouch!

On another note, my Australorp that was sick the other week has made a full recovery and is now back in with the rest.
That's great news K spot, not your mum (best wishes) but your lorp :)

How long does this molting go on for? I got two Isa browns in march, they were molting then, had no chest feathers, now they seem to be all feathered up but still not laid me an egg. My leghorns only stopped for about a month. I'm also trying not to give them treats, just layer pellets, but they really don't care for them, will giving them a seed mix stopped them laying? And if I put my chickens on layer pellets, is that ok? they are about 10 weeks old I think. Just hard to stop the bigger birds eating the chick starter. Lots of questions lol

Chicks that young should still be on grower until around 16-17 weeks (or so I was told by the breeder I got my Araucanas from).

Runny noses could indicate upper respiratory infection, which is what I just finished treating my Australorp hen for.
You need to separate any sick birds away from your main flock and give them some Oxymav B or Triple C in their water. I was giving my Lorp Triple C and it's worked for me, but many people also use Oxymav B.

You can find both at produce stores.

Agree totally with kspot. Isa browns can take for ever to get their feather back after moult. My chooks would never eat the standard pellets. You could try a good layer mash or grain for the older hens or laucke mills show bird breeder is a good pellet that my wellies have,

Nor would mine. I accidently bought a bag of Laucke Mills Xtra Egg instead of my normal Red Hen Layer. I thought oh well, I'll try it.
Nope, you'd think it was poison the way they were avoiding it.
