I love this site. I have just started letting my ladies free range for a few hours per day. they are getting into my kale but have plenty to share. I have an australorp who is the piggy of the flock... cute to watch. we have lost a number of chickens from random deaths and neigbours dogs but they make me so happy. I rush home from work to see them and jump out of bed to let them out to start their day.
does melbourne weather get to cold for chickens? im relatively new to chickrn business
Welcomes, Chickens adapt well to temp changes so as long as they are fully feathered so not day old chicks they will do fine outside. It is currently 0.4c here at the moment and my 4 week old marans are outside on the grass, Stupid winter weather this year. Last week we had a couple of days of 15C to 30C for the day this week -1c to 25c yesterday and just above zero this morning. Qld girls bet you are glad you aren't out at Oakey the last few nights brrr. -6.5c yesterday morning. Yes Ash I know that's hot for you down there
