Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

You could have recessive white in your Line of Plymouth rocks...

Must be what it is. I'm sure that they're pure. Both would have to carry the white gene then wouldn't they? So 25% will be w/w, 50% will be B/w and 25% will be B/B? I dunno the proper way to represent the genes but I figure w for white, B for barred

Hi all, I have two roosters in one off my flock and both attack I don't want to get rid of them cause they are beautiful things Frizzle named Puffle and a Wyandotte called Prince Charles but we like to call him Charlie I can send some pics if u want I also want to know if there is any way of stopping them from attacking.

I think all bantams are lovers of being broody. My pekins are broody all the time and feisty little girls when they are too.

Ah. Thanks :)

She was quick to break her broodiness, I popped her in the cage yesterday morning and she laid an egg this morning so I let her out and she's not been near the boxes since :)

I think that you should get rid of them, or cull them. If you really want to keep them, then I'd separate them and keep them in a separate pen. I'd like to see some pics though!

Pinky,
I think that recessive white represented by c/c
Barred is B/B
Yes you are correct:

25% will be recessive white (c/c)
50% will be barred carrying recessive white (B/c)
25% will be barred (B/B)

Hope that makes sense
Are these the first Plymouth rocks you have hatched from your line?
How many have you set?

yep, they're the first I've hatched of my own but satay has hatched from mine and just recently a friend hatched a couple. Waiting for her to send some pics .

About the mean rooster, I spent a lot of time with mine for the first year, would hold him on my lap in the morning so he wouldn't crow until everyone was awake. Now he's more docile than my hen around me, but attacks my partner. The trick seems to be just holding him till he calms down but I can see that going terribly wrong in a different situation.

This is her
:)
