Hi all, I live in Sydney and have bought my first backyard chickens. My husband thinks I'm crazy and is worried that our retirement home is going to be a farm and my kids think their great. Me, I have fallen in love with my chickens, they are amazing to watch.

Any tips on getting rid of flies in the chicken run etc?

A great precaution to take is replacing the soil in the chicken run every 6-12 months. This reduces flies as well as other diseases and parasites hiding in the soil.
I also find that Diatomaceous Earth helps as well.

Yeah ill be interested in the answers too. We have flies for the first time too. These large fowl poop a lot more than just the bantams last year.
