Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Look at the size of the egg I collected a day ago! It is 3 inches long, boy it is a massive egg. We have had 2 double yolks so far and my hens aren't even a year old!

Love all the new baby chicks, makes me want to start hatching chickens too :)
I admired all the beautiful horses a few days ago too, although I am not a horse person really.
If I had a lot of land I would have goats and alpacas, and roosters in my flock!
I would love to see what other animals / pets everybody has, please show us some photos!
OK, I know this is a chicken website, but it's a social thread right? :)

My backyard is now back to normal. One chicken coop with my 4 hens and one 20 week old pullet.
Friend's chickens went back home on the weekend and the roosters are in the freezer.

Update on my baby quails: out of the two I had to hatch - the little one didn't make it. I thought it was doing well, but then it got weaker and died.
The one with spayed legs made full recovery. It is smaller than the others, but doing well. 10 healthy quails in the brooder

I have 22 eggs in the bator now, from my birds. Fertility test, see how we go.

I have a question for all the knowledgeable and experienced people on this forum. A purely commercial question. What breed/breeds are the easiest to sell?

I wish I had set another few dozen silkie eggs in the summer. I have sold out all of my babies and have had several orders on this years. My sussex sell very well too.
