Hi guys!

I have a little silkie who i'm trying to get to eat some treats i gave her some meal-worms today and she just stared at them i've tried lettuce, strawberries, grass but yet all she eats are the pellets! The other chooks are gobble gutses especially with meal-worms, she's about 12 weeks old will this change or is there something i can do to make her start eating something other than pellets?

Thank so much!

Scrambled egg, mine love it! I wish I could convince mine to eat pellets . The grass is always greener ...........

Are you kidding!!! I drop and egg EVERY bloody day hahahah.

I put 3 eggs in my pocket...they got squished.
I put my shirt like a bowl and put 16 eggs in it,, tripped and fell squishing them all into my face and chest:lol: .
I have dropped countless eggs.
I have even had my hands pecked by hungry fowl and dropped them.

The chickens eat the shell and all so nothing really goes to waste:) .

I would have paid to see the ones in your shirt breaking. :lau

Our had no interest in worms or snails, but at some point that changed. Now the run looks like a moonscape after they have been looking for worms. If I pick up the rake, they know there will be worms. Now I have to push them out of the way so I can finish raking lol

My silkie and silkie crosses were the same. Maybe its a breed thing.

They did end up learning from our other chooks though I found the best way to get them started was take some pellets and add hot water till it crumbles up to a mash Cool to just warm then add some of your dinner leftovers and mix together. Mine loved that and it got them used to eating other things.

My rcom went really well apart from a handful, the crap piece of poop yellow thing went/is going really badly. I should have returned it when I had the chance but they were going to make me pay for postage so I just kept it and thought I would give it a proper test. I'll just use it for emergencies now I think. And my quail eggs in my other rcom are going great, I candled quite a few (not all) and only found 2 not working and all the air cells were pretty good, I was hoping for a 50% hatch so I'm quite hopeful that I actually will get that many :)
