My rcom went really well apart from a handful, the crap piece of poop yellow thing went/is going really badly. I should have returned it when I had the chance but they were going to make me pay for postage so I just kept it and thought I would give it a proper test. I'll just use it for emergencies now I think. And my quail eggs in my other rcom are going great, I candled quite a few (not all) and only found 2 not working and all the air cells were pretty good, I was hoping for a 50% hatch so I'm quite hopeful that I actually will get that many

So how many have you hatched?

I still haven't done a final head count. There are 9 aras, and at least a dozen FW Marans. 5 from my black coppers project, 1 from my olive eggers, there are still half a dozen eggs in the rcom I am giving another day as there looks like there is still something going on in there..

Also one of the Araucana chicks I hatched from some eggs I bought has a vaulted skull. This one just has a slight bump, but does anyone know much about vaulted skulls and what happens to the chicks that have it?

Are you kidding!!! I drop and egg EVERY bloody day hahahah.

I put 3 eggs in my pocket...they got squished.
I put my shirt like a bowl and put 16 eggs in it,, tripped and fell squishing them all into my face and chest .
I have dropped countless eggs.
I have even had my hands pecked by hungry fowl and dropped them.

The chickens eat the shell and all so nothing really goes to waste .

. Too funny Luke . I am good at bending down to pat a quail and forgetting i have quail eggs in my pocket til i hear the squish.

Grats on your hatch Chook. I have no experience with vaulted skull maybe Ash has and will be able to help.
