Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Ben, my husband and daughter fly into Perth on Thursday , are you sure your incubator is full??

I do have two incubators lol.

I only estimated how many we could fit in there, I only yesterday actually laid out eggs in the rack and can fit more than I thought.

Perhaps an exchange of some eggs for a lift from the airport? I actually live pretty close to the airport. Happy to help out if they need a ride.

Just out of curiosity, what breeds to you have?

Something funny happened today, I have three hens and two chicks about 7 weeks. I let the hens out the coop to run around and put the chicks in the coop so they could run around there and at least have a bit of contact with the hens without getting hurt, bear in mind this is my first experience with chickens. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and it started to get dark, I looked out the window and noticed my hens were all sitting on top of the coop, I thought OMG they are going to fly in the next door neighbours yard. I ran outside took the chicks out and put them in their own coop so i could get the hens away and I turned around and saw my hens one by one marching into the coop up the ramp and settled on their perch ready for bed. I obviously was late and it was past their bed time and were trying to get in their house. Aren't they clever.

Thanks Ben, but they'll pick up a hire car, and then they are off to brigadoon . You are worse than me. I have 2 incubators but I have never had them arched up at the same time.
Have a look in my albums. I have light sussex, coronation sussex, silver laced Wyandotte , silkie and blue laced red Wyandotte . Too many.

These are definately my favorite .

They are Coronation Sussex. What great looking chooks!

I have been using my DIY incubator as the primary, and then use my Hovabator as a hatcher as it is easier to clean. Two makes a staggered hatch a bit easier too.

I would love some of those Coro's and Alicia has always been sweet on the SLW's, but I have enough on my hands already I think. Planning on getting two dozen and then a few of our own barnyard mixes in there in an attempt at a few EE's.

Man, those Coro's do look good hahahaha

Sydney needs more available fancy chickens!

I look on gumtree at all the other states and they have such great options.. I'm so jealous of people on farms and have roosters hehe stupid Sydney! I wanna hatch chicks and not be paranoid ill get cockerels - sigh - i gotta live through all of you so please keep the chick pics coming! Hehe

PS: Anyone in Sydney region with Plymouth Rocks or Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets - P L E A S E let me know!

What sort of chickens are they, they are beautiful.

This is king George and his girls, they are coronation sussex . They lay every day are very inquisitive and very easy on the eye.
