Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks for the tips guys. I managed to get one of them with the hose a couple of days ago on a high powered jet. Seems to have deterred them a bit but I have a feeling they'll be back. Was thinking of trying one of those plastic owls on the roof of the coop but don't want to scare the **** out of the girls... Even if I could use it on the garden. :)

Similar thing, tips anyone for keeping a dozen magpies off my clothesline? Going to have to re wash everything I hung out today. Poop all over everything. Grr

They are cute but we have become the neighborhood crèche it seems there are at least a dozen babies and parents playing in our backyard each day. My daughter has named half of them so non lethal solutions only :)

Try hanging some old cd's on the line it is supposed to work for crows so may work for maggies too. I love our maggies they come down each morning for some dry dog biscuits i put in a feeder for them and bring their babies down each season, thankfully they don't get on my clothes line though.
Anyone got any deterrents for guinea fowl? My neighbours ones a few doors up for the last week or so keep getting into my bantam pen and chasing them for their feed. I have told the neighbour but so far they have done nothing to stop them.

Look what Santa sent me in the post today. :D

700

well, not the white ones.

wow lovely rexy. Who did you get them off?

Don't worry it gets hot here too. Most of our visitors say they were prepared for the cold, but nobody warned them about the heat. When we go to horse events , we take sunscreen, hat , jacket and umbrella . And it's jacket on jacket off, jacket on jacket off, all day long. In QLD they say " beautiful one day , perfect the next." In Tassie it's " give it another 15 minutes, it'll get better, I promise!"
