Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Don't worry it gets hot here too. Most of our visitors say they were prepared for the cold, but nobody warned them about the heat. When we go to horse events , we take sunscreen, hat , jacket and umbrella . And it's jacket on jacket off, jacket on jacket off, all day long. In QLD they say " beautiful one day , perfect the next." In Tassie it's " give it another 15 minutes, it'll get better, I promise!"

That's good to know. At the moment we have stupid weather up here. Friday last week was 32c Saturday 27c Sunday 39c and Monday 40C Tuesday back to 30c... No rain still so everything is crunchy brown.

Tell me about it. We were a family of six with a five seated car so my brother sat on mums knee in the front and we also used to sit on bean bags in the back of dads van. Fun days but I'm not sure how any of us survived to grow up lol

I remember those days appps . I went to a choir performance in state school and we all piled into the back of one of the mums station wagon to go. I think there was like 8 of us in the very back. No seat belts and no seats lol.

The heritage is what attracted us to Tassie, we go back to the mainland regularly, but find the heat overbearing . Perhaps the heat gene has been lost over the last 14 years.
Where else could we have a 160 year old farm on the river.
This is what we fell in love with.

Omg, That's so beautiful can see why you fell in love with the place :) It's funny what we get used to. My cousin was from fn qld and moved to crows nest( half hour form Toowoomba) a few years ago. She recently told me she is moving back to Mackay when she finds a place as it is to cold here lol. It is cold in winter but not summer.

Yeah , in 1981 my hubby was posted to HMAS Tobruk and we spent 18 months in Brisbane. It was a very exciting time they were gearing up for the commonwealth games.
I enjoyed our time there, even though my husband was in Israel. The only thing that bugged me , in summer it seemed to rain at 3-05 almost everyday. Made school pickup a nightmare. Home is where your heart is !

Oh how I love the cold:D . I don't actually like being cold always but just like rugging up and being cozy in the cold.lol.

Fancy, If I had to live any where apart from Europe or Africa I would live in Tassie. Very nice country.

Hey Luke , my husband is from the UK. His parents moved here to Tassie in 2005. They said it reminded them of the " mother country ", but they had been living near mudgee in the heat for the last 25 years.
I wouldn't swap my 17 and sunny forecast for what you guys are in for today. Batten down the hatches guys and look after your animals. Fingers crossed it won't last long. Frozen peas or blueberries will keep them cool for a while.

Looks like I've got a few pages to catch up on! Beautiful house fancy :) Nice eggs Rexy
