It does sound broody though I don't know what an egg bound one acts like. When mine are broody if you take them off the nest they can think of nothing but getting back on, and if the closest they can get is the perch next to the nesting box they will sit there instead
They also growl at us and we have one that pecks if you try and pick her up off the nest.
There is always the exception to the rule, but they are genetically designed to lay eggs. My old girl " red " would be at least 7 years old and even though she has been debeaked, she is more inclined to eat an egg than sit on it. We originally rescued 4 and lost 2 due to being eggbound. Old red still lays a couple of eggs every now and again, god love her. They usually have a soft spot on the end, to make it easy for her to break into.
Nice pictures Fancy and as to isa's had lots over the years never had one go broody. Only one i have left now is little miracle and she lays an egg a day every day so far and showing no signs of broodiness so far. She is in my fern house with my old boy booster that i think may not be around much longer poor old fella. She lays in an empty pot each day and snuggles up with boo at night.

I can agree with you there appps. My loudest broody at the moment is a buff cochin. Sound like someone is strangling her if you try to move her or another hen goes try to get in her nest box lol. My most violent when broody is my Malay game. She has a very strong peck. She is a sweet gentle girl and then turns broody and turns into the mumma hen to be from hell lol. Most broody of all are my pekins think they are broody at least 3/4 of the time.

She quite literally hissed at me yesterday! I managed to get one egg out last night after sunset, and when she went out for a run this morning I grabbed the other two. She's really made a very nesty looking nest in the laying box, though. I'll see where she's at this arvo...
She certainly sounds broody, so long as you collect the eggs daily you can still eat them.
Are the eggs fertile?
