Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

She was starting to run around in there crazy as, she was starting to move a couple of other eggs that have just started to pip. She's in the brooder, turning all fluffy :) and chirping like mad :) Hopefully another one will hatch shortly so she can have complany.
I put my hand in the box and she ran straight up onto my hand and fell asleep :)
I don't know what I would have done without you guys, honestly, been very nervous

Fantastic Sandee, I hope the others hatch soon. More pics!

Others are pipping, but seem to be taking longer than the first :( Oh well, there is heaps of chirping going on, so will be patient :)
I put a pic up of "Un-named" chicken in best chicken contest :) At least one made it just in time :)
Can I handle her too much till the other's hatch? She goes to sleep in my hand as soon as I pick her up :(

Bit of a disaster here. I knew something was amiss when I heard the roo crowing on the verandah at 3 am. There has been some " argy bargy " with the bantam Broodie's sitting on my blrw. They kicked the 2 roos out and looks like they have been fighting over the eggs. 2 crushed and shrink wrapped and 2 rolled over and drowned.

. So I've separated the hens and left the remaining eggs with my best momma hen. So far I've got 2 coro's and 5 blrw.
To add to my 8 blrw that are coming up to 2 weeks of age. I have decided to leave it to the hens and turn the incubator off. Got our old neighbor from Sydney here for a BBQ , it's raining , of course.

Thanks Sandee, it's just upsetting to see them fully formed and dead in their shell.
I try to console my self by rationalizing that at least 1/2 of them would have been roos.
Oh no , knowing my luck the ones that have survived are all roos

Oh no, don't start doing a ME trick :( I do that too :( I was panicking yesterday that all of mine had drown or suffocated in their shells :(
Now today, I worry that I have cause them harm by opening the lid to get first chick out :(
Soooo pleeeeeeeeeeeeease don't do a Sandy trick, not good :(
I wish you all the best with your surviving babies hunny :) You never know :) they might surprise you xx

Sorry to hear that Fancy, as excited as I get about hatching, I always have a concern for being that cause of loosing some so close to teh end. At least this was not your fault, jut flock nature messing up your plans.

Hope those ladies sort their bongo's out and get on with the job.
