Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Looks like it's only going to be 4 bantams out of the 7 eggs I set :(
One started pipping on Monday night has passed away in the shell :(
The other 2 looks like they are quitters as well :(
Oh well 4 are better than nothing I suppose :(

Satay. I did have a thought. Thor is so big maybe the dose for kg doesn't cover the body size area of Thor maybe ask the vet next visit ?

Thanks Sam. Thor is 53kg and Zeus is 37kg. I use the 25kg to 40kg for Zeus and the 40kg to 60kg for Thor. Our vet said maybe he was becoming immune to the brand I was using... she really wasn't sure though so I am switching to another brand she recommended, Hopefully it will turn up in the mail today. Speaking of our vet. I just had to post this pic she sent me of thor when he was in the vets the other day. Apparently Everyone there was in love with him and wanted to cheer him up when he was looking so sad.

You gotta love the humor of our country town vets lol.

I hate it when they don't hatch, it all just seems so futile. But at least you have some chicks, best to look at the bright side of life, bedoomp, bedoomp bedoomp..........

Grrr tad upset :( Had 4 perfect little bantams hatch out of 7 :( One gave up the ghost last night :( Am gonna give them a couple of more days just in case :(
Happy that the infertile egg especially hatched, even though he/she is taken already :(
At least Sethy (my 11 yr old) might still have his Kiev and Noodles :)

Congrats on the hatch. It is never easy to loose one though sorry for that loss.

Thanks hun, yeah I believe things happen for a reason. Survival of the fittest etc
Well this is my last hatch till next year now, storm season is well and truly upon us.
Have silky eggs coming next year and turkeys turkeys and more turkeys lol
Oh and a couple of muscovies :) almost forgot about them

Thanks hun :) I'll get some pics of the survivors today :) They are going great guns :)
Not even an hour out of the egg and pigging out :)
I can't believe how tiny they are :) About the size of a house key

Wow that is tiny. I have hatched large chicks for so long that these banties I have now seem to not be growing lol. I am sure they are but gosh the still seem so small still.
