This is a long shot but do they still have the Gawler poultry Auctions at the Trotts in Adelaide? If so i think they were on every Second Wednesday, what times do they start? Cheers

After mum said NO more chickens she now wants to get a silkie and I've convinced her that we really should introduce at least 2 new girls. Sweet! Can't wait!

A couple of photos of my last batch of Marans chicks, from the very nice eggs from WA and Chookpatch, on their first freeranging day at about 6 weeks.

I wish they would all line up nicely like Fancy's well trained chickens.

My well trained chickens were all gathered up on dusk and put into the grow out pen, when I got up this morning all but one of the little blighters was back on the verandah. Looks like we will have to chicken wire the bottom half of the gate to keep them in.

My biggest problem ATM is rats. I've lost a couple of chicks and they are biting some of the older ones when they are roosting.
