Oh Rexy you can have my RAIN!!! I have had enough of it!Satay, just cos you saw that rain first, doesn't mean that you can have it. Toss you for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or maybe Sam has enough for both of us.![]()
Oh Rexy you can have my RAIN!!! I have had enough of it!
It's filled the tanks, got the vegetation growing...a little to much though now.lol.
Such a tough little man!.. The two Australorps I have that are about 11 weeks old and the little rooster is like my shadow! He loves his cuddles and flies at me, only prob is his sister is just the same so I spend my time nursing them like twin babies when they should be foraging hehe gosh I'll miss these two when they all go to their new homes :'(
Sorry I haven't been on guys, been moving chicks around7 hens went in with older chooks last night, sounds like there is a full on brawl happening out there this morning.
Been out several times since day break, no one is hurt......... yetI know they have to sort it out, but they have been grazing all day every day together, plus younger ones have been going into the pen, so I didn't think there would be a drama

So much for a sleep in on a Sunday hey
Have to go pick up son's gf for the day, so I hope there isn't too much bloodshed by the time I get home
Hopefully get to catch up on the 146 posts when I get back as well lol![]()
Frankly, if at all possible, I would separate them. Your Silkie would be waaay smaller than the RIR ... and as you have described your RIR as 'aggressive' ... in your post - it's my bet she will not stop attacking. Which could lead to serious injury or worse for little Dove. The RIR is probably seeing Dove in a different light now - as it was Dove's first egg, and she is now a potential Mum. And it is the RIR that I would separate out ... not to punish but to perhaps teach her a thing or two. However, how many chickens do you have altogether ? If quite a few - removing little Dove might be the only answer as these attacks can be 'contagious' for some reason. Could also lead to all in brawling between all ( or some of ) the chickens. Good luck - but separate those two - somehow.Hey guys!
My gorgeous little Silkie "Dove" has laid her first egg today! It's perfect! My only prob is she interrupted my aggressive RIR and got into the same nest box.. Since coming out of the coop after laying her egg little Dove has been constantly attacked by my RIR it's horrible! What's it all about and how can I stop it? The RIR had already laid her egg and they only lay in one nest box..
Anyone have any ideas?![]()
