Hey I have a Dominique rooster I'm sure he is but I haven't found any others in aus
I need to re home him as I'm not allowed to have him dose any one know anyone who would like him he is friendly

Dominiquers have barred stripeing and a rose comb. Post a pic if you like, You could advetise on gumtree or freecycle too.

Yeah I know, but it's just so annoying going on the the Marans threads and seeing how much darker their eggs are .lol.
Yeah Chooks really are great!
I find my Marans lay more than the Langshans, which is good.

Where did you buy this from Sydney?
Just some information, chickens don't have the same taste buds as us humans. They can't taste 'hot', I have fed whole chillies to my chicken before and it doesn't bother them at all, but it does get rid of those parasites.

I try not to look at them Luke lol. Sure would be good if ours were that dark.

He looks like a clean faced Cuckoo Araucana. Did you hatch him?

I'm going to try to show mine at the royal melb show this year if I can organise myself. I'm still getting a few nice eggs but most of my Marans are moulting. I posted some of these pics on some other pages but the dark olives are from some of my new pullets. My Marans eggs here are around a 4 according to the American Marans charts I have. The darkest I've seen is a 6. I can't wait for the new pullets to start laying

I'm hatching all I can at the moment and only just filling the bator I'm hoping my Marans pullets will start up soon although they will probably stop laying just as soon as their eggs get to a good size to hatch from... That Murphy guy likes to taunt me

If you cross a pea comb with a single comb you can get a rose comb. Where did you get him from?

Sorry but your rooster is no Dominique. Where did you heard that he was a Dominique?
He looks to be a backyard mix, still very handsome though.
He couldn't be a Dom any way as Australia doesn't have them.
