Thanks Sam, I had a wonderful weekend . A bit of a special birthday as well. We took the kids , the grand kids and some close friends to Longford. Woolmers estate. A beautiful Georgian estate. We stayed in free settlers cottages on the grounds had a wonderful time. I even found some chickens to feed. Their names were Brad and Angelina. I will post some pics later.

What's people's opinions on how many girl to roo ratio works best?

My chicken book says 10 hens to 1 roo and after the roo is 3 yr fertility drops LOL I haven't the experience but that's what the book says !

Nasty frizzle rooster went to freezer camp. My father in law was here at the time and showed me how to skin a rooster ... Interesting having a father in law who is a butcher by trade
Yesterday went and had a lovely mothers day with my 92 year old grandma. She was really excited to see everyone especially the great grand kids. Hope mr p and the boys spoilt you

Lol yeah was a fun day till just as I got in to a bath 6yo came in screaming he had taken the 9yos legs from under him and got a knee to the face knocking out a tooth ! Er.... End of Mother's Day festivities. ! He has minor concussion and I'm so so glad it's not a permanent tooth
