What's going on with the chick in the background, it looks dead.
They look a lot like coronation sussex.

Just got home from hobart , our daughter was performing in the eisteddfod . Thought I better go check the new babies. Lucky I did, one hatched while we were out and it was away from momma, laying on it's back squawking . That's 3 partridge and 3 black.

I wonder why. I think we got 7 coros out of 12 eggs, which is pretty jolly good for posted eggs. So your fertility is going great guns, Fancy. Many thanks.

Good job. I had to check my calendar , it didn't seem possible they could have hatched already! Time flies. Ah yes George is a good daddy.

So far there are 6 of Fancy's coro sussex (sorry rexy, miscounted... One was Luke's rir!).... 1 rir and 2 frizzles from Lucas, 2 of my pekin's, 2 of rexy's maran's, and rexy's australorpe..... Still with another 3 coro sussex and a pekin egg cracking as we speak! Just not sure about your other Maran egg rexy... Still nothing from it yet and it is the last one.... Maybe the lucky last

All in all.... A very successful hatch! And I want to say a HUGE thank you to rexy for lending us her incubator and eggs to hatch.... We have had the most glorious time watching and waiting.... Absolutely glued to the Perspex! It was wonderfully generous of you to let us test out your next bator.... I am now certainly looking for one of my own to buy
