Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks for the good wishes.  : )  I have definite chirping this morning & Snowy keeps shifting as if she is being poked by something underneath.  It's not a full chorus of chirping so there may only be one, but that's ok as long as it survives.  I'm waiting for it to warm up now so I can take the lid off the dog box myself & shift Snowy to see what is going on.  I'm really hoping that the chirping was not from inside an egg!

Come on, put me out of my misery, let me know somebody has hatched today lol

@appps
 How did you outsmart her? I need to get that broody broken tomorrow before the better half throws some eggs under her.

Well day 1 put her in a temporarily fenced area and she went under the gate - fixed that
Day 2 she found a back exit - gave up on temporary area
Day 3 put her in the back yard so she couldn't get in the run at all. She found a secret entrance
Day 4 gave up and put her in the pot.

Just kidding lol but it was heading that way lol. I finally found (knock on wood) every secret entrance and escape exit she has and have blocked them. She, and Al who never likes to be out done so has joined team broody, are now both most disgusted to be stuck in the backyard and are complaining while the other three are most disgusted NOT to be stuck in the backyard and are complaining too. Arghhhhhhh lol

Fine! If you will not let us in we shall form a picket line outside the box.

Pretty hens appps! Is that a mohawk on the one on the right?

I have finally seen a chick! Snowy let them poke their heads out for a minute & then ushered them back under. I think there may have been one trying to get out from under her tail too.

I saw Snowy eat a piece of hay so hopefully her appetite is returning & she will get up & feed properly today.

Yay!!! Congrats they are so sweet! Do you know what breeds they will be? And yep bit of a Mohawk going on, when she was little it stuck straight up and looked like a crown. It grew up to think its a bit of a princess too :)

Thanks all for the advice on lice a few weeks ago. I feel it's definitely slowed it down.
However ten chicks and counting have been hatched and I think they have lice. Would it be safe to rub the powder (pestone) on my hands and then rub it on to the chicks.
A friend told me that powder isn't good for them, but as long as they aren't breathing it in it should be alright? or will it burn them?

Thanks appps & Teila! They will be araucanas. I'm not worried if they are more the easter egger type because I'm after blueish eggs & am looking forward to a chook with a bit of head gear too. : ) That's a gorgeous pic appps! I can quite clearly see the princess there - tiara then.
