OMG I HAVE A PIP!!!!!!!!!!!

Just went up and thought we are three hours away from clicking to day 24, Ill have a look see if there is any action. Very carefully pulled them out one at a time...

Egg 1 I could see the dark spot on the side so think that was the one we saw around day 17 that we thought had stopped developing.

Egg 2 the air cell seems to have moved down the egg and there is blood red showing around the edges so guess thats a dead one.

Egg 3 same thing but couldnt tell if it was red.

Figured they are all had it so reached under Penny to just pull out the last couple together and something felt funny under my finger, looked and it was decent size pip hole!!! I didnt stop to investigate further just gently put it and the other one Id pulled out straight back and then procedded to do the happy dance LOL

So one pip, two dont knows. OMG so **** excited LOL I really had given up at this late stage.

appps I am so very excited for Penny and you!

I have never had a broody with no bubbies and I would feel so very sorry for her. Hopefully I will not be putting out a call for new born chicks in the next couple of days

lol at rooster tipping .. not just yet

I love it when the rain is kind enough to hold off until after the girls have had their afternoon free range and I am not trying to dry off soggy chookies/chickies before bed time. They have been on the roost for 10mins max and it just started to rain

Edited to Add: OMG! I am an idiot! I have it in my stoopid head that I gave Blondie the eggs on a Tuesday morning at 6am but it was Thursday morning. I was trying to work out how tomorrow was hatch day and only day 20 ... Slapping myself; chicks not due tomorrow at all!!

Our broodies seem to be getting over their maternal instincts, only took a month... But yesterday and today even the most persistent of them has been spending several hours outside.
